Practice Practice Practice

So I have been working hard on my technique and brush skill here are just a few of the results. I've been working on my own designs as well as tutorials from other face painters. Including one from theWolfe Bros. Site and a few from Becstar Anthony.
Everyone make a fish face

This is one of my own designs....and yes that's me. I made a mistake though and didn't follow the rules of face painting..lol. The fish should be swimming towards the centre of the face. That way the fish aren't swimming off your face but into it.
Half Monster Half Beauty

This one is based on a tutorial I found on Youtube from Becstar. She does awesome work and she does great tutorials too.

Reaper
This one I love. I tried it first on myself then on my little sister...( she's a willing model which is not always easy to find )
Reaper take 2
I think this one would be good for those boys you get at gigs who just want to be scary as heck.
Fancy Eye
This time I was loosely basing the face on yet another tutorial from Becstar Anthony. As I said I am a huge fan of hers and if she every makes it to Canada to do classes I am so there.
Monster/Dragon Face
Just you basic generic Monster face but I am proud of how it turned out but I need to simplify it for use on children.
Roses a plenty
And just so you don't all think I only do monsters here are some of my roses I have learned to do watching tutorial videos on Silly Farm. They have loads and loads of videos. Silly Heather is fun to watch and goes though everything carefully. All of these designs were done using Snazaroo Paints.
Thanks for having a look at my work . I am hoping to maybe post some step by steps soon.

YMCA Gig Pics

So I have finally started painting professionally. I have only had a few gigs so far but word of mouth is spreading which is great. I am still feeling a bit timid and uneasy but the more I do the more confident I will be. This particular gig was at one of the local YMCA summer day camps as part of their carnival week. For more info on YMCA day camps in Ottawa click here .
Sweetest little Red/Blue Lion
I had a large group to paint but they were all quite patient. This little guy was one of the more adventurous ones of the bunch . He had sat and really thought about what he wanted before he got to my chair. Great job buddy !
Beautiful Hibiscus

I had spent most of the morning doing snakes, Batman faces and scorpions so when I was asked for a flower I was happy to oblige. Turned out well. It was a little surreal for me to be at a camp working and not actually being one of the counsellors. It was nice to get out and paint.
Over the Rainbow
I was having a lot of requests for butterfly eyes , mostly pink ones. I was so glad when this wee girl asked but said she wanted a rainbow butterfly. I don't have any rainbow cakes yet in my kit but I am certainly going to put some in. I did this one by loading my sponge with a brush and adding each colour in turn. Isn't she beautiful.
Pink /Orange Flutter Eyes
I also had a huge age range to paint. The kids were from 3 yrs old  to 15 . Plus there were a few enthusiastic adults there to who had their faces done too. This lovely tween wanted a butterfly but not a kiddie one. I tried to give her a pretty but cool design. She loved it.
I had a great day , except for not having a comfy chair..lol. Can't wait for the next adventure.
